Walking groups in Qatar

Khatwa turns walking into something you do with other people. Make a group for the office, the compound or the family, share one link, and the week takes care of itself.

Private groups, joined by one link

A private group is for the people you actually walk with. It does not appear in search and nobody can add themselves to it: the only way in is the invite link you share. The free plan includes one private group, and Khatwa Plus raises that to five.

Communities, open to anyone in Qatar

A community is a public group anyone can find and join — a neighbourhood, a running club, a workplace that welcomes newcomers. There is no limit on how many you belong to. A public place to walk should not be rationed.

A weekly leaderboard that resets on Sunday

Every group ranks its members by the steps they walked that week, and starts again each Sunday. A slow week is never a lost season, and someone who joins on Thursday is a few days from the top rather than a month behind.

A group chat with rules everyone agreed to

Each group has its own chat, and a short set of plain rules that every member reads and accepts before they can post. The rules come first on purpose.

Friends, not followers

Khatwa shows you the people who walk with you — on the leaderboard, and as a count of the friends already in a group. There is no follower number to grow and no list to maintain.

Questions about groups

Can I start a walking group with Khatwa?

Yes. Any member can create a group — a private one for an office, compound or family, or a public community anyone in Qatar can find and join. You invite people with a single link, and you are the group admin. The free plan includes one private group and Khatwa Plus raises that to five; public communities are not capped.

How many walking groups can I be in?

One private group on the free plan, or five with Khatwa Plus. Public communities are unlimited on both plans, so you can belong to as many open walking groups as you like.

How does the group leaderboard work?

Each group ranks its members by the steps they walked that week, and the board resets every Sunday. Names are shortened on the board, and any member can opt out of appearing on it entirely while still belonging to the group.

Is Khatwa good for an office step challenge?

That is one of the things it was built for. Make a private group for the team, share the link, and the weekly leaderboard runs without anyone administering it. The points people earn buy real rewards from partner cafés, gyms and studios across Qatar, so the prize is not a spreadsheet.

Can I make a group just for my family or my compound?

Yes. A private group is invisible to everyone but the people you send the link to, and nobody can join it uninvited.

Do we all need the same phone?

No. Khatwa is coming to both iPhone and Android, and reads steps through Apple Health or Health Connect. A group can mix the two freely, and nobody needs a watch or a band.
